one KEYWORD of abstract.txt: location independency

Lately, speeding from work to school to the other work to home to gym
restaurants I've felt my real is HERE between these places. I am
location dependent, and quite happy about it. I belong somewhere. I could
leave this place, but there is nothing (network-wise) to take me to that
park that I walk through to go to work, nothing to take me to Tapasta (a
pasta restaurant) where I can drink and eat with my friends, so it would
mean sewering my ties with the place I leave.

So my point is, is location independency a desired attribute and can it be
gained through network technologies? Yes, but I also feel that claiming to
posess this attribute NOW is a sign of something else other than
successful use of network technology. It's more a sign of a drifter,
maybe. Technology to enable sufficient virtual presence seems to lurk
behind the corner, but so it has for a quite awhile, already. One
discussion we had at the AN-Helsinki-Base was that you'd need to transmit
the status of each and every molecule of a room to completely recreate the
place in somewhere else.. so.. it'll take a while.

and next in our series of nit-picking irrelevant details ..
what should the color of the bottom of my boot be?

male, 24 yrs, got to know computer networks too late?
