i'm involved in the http://an.org/riks/ -thing,
my interest is supporting ISP startup activity in
Kosovo and neighbouring areas .. wireless access etc,

was discussing this with isoc/kosovonet.org ppl
in San Jose an later in Utrecht / isoc.nl and

have been wondering if ISTF could address that,
if there would be an-humanitarian/issues working group
or something perhaps especially on Balkan countries ..
the tech. problems are more or less solved but there's
a lot of social innocation needed there.

dunno much about .org-an/izational issues within
IETF/IRTF/ISOC or ISTF but do think that some IETF-like
model might work.

haven't been to any IETF meetings though, now there
would be one close-enough in Oslo but i'm a bit unwilling to travel.
wonder if i should go there? it's actually about money, but it's
easy to get cheap loan as a student in Finland :)

in October there's a temporary media lab in Kiasma, in Helsinki,
where we might host an-ISTF meeting and at least a lot of related
events. mentioned that to Vint and he supported, but well, we'll see.
the lab will be continuing nettime.org -related issues discussed in for
example http://www.n5m.org/ and http://www.waag.org/browser/

thanks for the url - good that it's there, even though i didn't see any
new info (ie. stuff after inet)

btw: i informed nettime and several other net.activists groups about the
ISTF before the Vint's announcement with http://an.org/sfan/0005.html ..
printed the txt out also and confirmed with him that it was ok on that
friday. he seemed to be contempt about it. i've received no mail feedback,
but meeting some of those (waag.org) ppl live in Amsterdam last week there
was some talk, also at the isoc.nl event.

but now back to bed, after an-al/y/z/ing yet another show of Teletubbies
Inc. this morning ;)

thanks again! and
let's stay connected.
