Some of you might have noticed that the Geneva conference and our part
especially was covered on nettime-list some time ago by Steve Cisler,

Finland and Switzerland there has been some media about it otherwise too.
Hope you're doing fine .. I've been here back home in Oulu for almost two
weeks now, after spending some time in Helsinki and mid-Finland for a
dance festival etc. first.
Most of my old friends are here and parties have been great! The company
is quite busy as well and there has been plenty of work for so a lot of
our time goes here at the office which is ok.
Besides Net People biz stuff I've also been involved with the Air-Guitar
World Championship contest that should be held on Friday 28th, in the end
of this month, here on the streets of Oulu and on the Internet.
If any of you would have the chance to be on-line then where-ever you are
waving your hand in front of a connected videocamera, so that we could see
you there on the marketplace where the contest is, it would be great! I'll
paste the press-info piece the guys had written here. They didn't even
think of the Internet when they came up with that theme for the contest
but I suggested it later and obviously it fits great :) (if we only get
the technical side and people together..)

Air guitarists save the world!
The most important thing isn't to compete, but to save the world!
The worldwide and simultaneous air guitar playing shall cease all war,
prevent the spreading of epidemics and join all nations right after the
Air Guitar World Championships in Finland, 28th of August 10 pm Finnish
time (8 pm GMT).
At that exact hour people all over the world will take their invisible
instruments and play it with their own unique style, alone and together.
Soldiers will lay down their weapons, crime ceases to exist, whirling
currents of air paralyze all bacteria and viruses. Who can be mean to
anyone, when everyone is playing air guitar? We hereby summon all people
on streets, market squares, homes and everywhere to play their breezy
chords in order to save the world.
