Re: INET'98 Abstract Submission 98332
"Surfing the Tidal Wave!"

Dear Toni Alatalo:

On behalf of the INET'98 Program Committee, thank you for submitting a
proposal for the Conference. We received over 400 submissions this year,
for a maximum of 150 presentations.

All of the proposals have been reviewed by the Program Committee on the
basis of quality of submissions on related topics, originality and
international scope on the subject, and the extent to which papers of
similar content were presented at earlier conferences.

We are pleased to inform you that your abstract has been selected
for development into a full paper. The review process this year is a
two stage process. This approach will allow the track leaders to work
with authors to develop a stronger program in which papers complement
each other to the greatest degree possible.

The Program Committee will consider the full papers in February and
expects to accept about 50% to 80%, depending on the tracks.

Final acceptance of papers for presentation at the INET98 Conference in
Geneva, Switzerland will be made by 27 March 1998. The Conference is
21-24 July. Full details of the Conference are available at
<http://www.isoc.org/inet98/>.

Your paper has been accepted for the "User-Centered Issues" track.
Your track leaders are:

User-Centered Issues
Laura Breeden ([email protected])
Christine Maxwell ([email protected])
Alexei Platonov ([email protected])

Full papers are due with the Internet Society Office not later than
3 February 1998. Details on length, format, method of submission, etc.
will be advised shortly. As with other INET conferences, the proceedings
will be published as a CD-ROM and also be available on-line.

It is expected that speakers will cover all expenses, including travel,
accommodation and registration, needed to attend the Conference and
present their papers. A LIMITED amount of partial financial assistance
may be available to assist presenters, generally from developing
countries, to participate in INET'98. More detailed guidelines
regarding financial assistance and on how to apply for it will be advised.

IMPORTANT: To assist the Program Committee in putting together the best
possible program, we ask that you indicate to us that you will be
preparing a full paper for 3 February 1998 and that you will be able to
attend INET'98 in Geneva, Switzerland 21-24 July, to present your paper.
This should be sent as a brief note to <[email protected]> not later
than 31 December, 1997. Please use this 5-character number as the
Subject line of your acknowledgment: 98332. Please send a separate
acknowledgement for each acceptance.
Thank you again for your support of INET'98.
