There is the Internet: I

Which in itself has no value, ie. it can be either negative - or well used a positive factor + but it is anyway the basic building block we have here.

some saw it as a big plus, | got together and founded.. -- -- | | | | | | ------ ------| The Internet Society: || ----- ------ (nicely formed || || and strong!) || || ------ ------|| |------ ------ | | | | | But,

there is also the other society: S the real world, as they call it! /--\ (from space it lookes like a ball) \--/

and the structures there are often, let us say, messy: 0-?#$/%!

go up and down \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ and are freakily woven together. (too complex for ASCII)

The Internet Society noticed that and said: "we are the Internet and Society" and started working on bridge building between law-tech-soc-politics whatever.

And then, what happened?

Well, here we are.

Internet is Social is Politics is Business is Money and Law.

Life is Social is Politics is Business is Money and Law *and* culture! and art! and people! and joy! and everything!!! *AND* technology, including the Internet.

The Internet Society (ISOC) reaches towards Internet self-governance. It wants to protect the Internet and ensure its wellbeing. Why? Because they believe it does good, of course. Does it? Who knows.

I believe it does. Did for me, at least. So? I don't know about the others. How should ISOC now? Better than the governments, even democracies -- the people itself?

The Internet needs to be taken care of for it to reach its full potential. Thats what they say and I agree. I've given my own life for doing it. It is my religion and sometimes I think I'm willing to fight for it. Sometimes I act like I was getting ready for the war already.

But to take upon self-governance over conventional democratic governments? That sounds scary and that is happening. Is it time to take sides?
