augmented communication

As long as you live surrounded by people you know there is no problem and
your social life requires minimal technical assistance. I consider this to
be the optimal situation.

For many - I believe mostly economical - reasons, however, we are often
forced to leave our beloved ones. As a consequence individuals in modern
(urban) environment are usually physically among strangers yet their
thoughts focused on the people and things they know. The social networks
are mapped in parallel for many other reasons too and this developement
goes hand in hand with the globalization and developement of technologies
like transport and communications.

This leaves us in a situation where the interest on community network
services has been extremely strong as information technology developes.
Too few attention, however, has been given to the reality augmenting -
instead of replacing - nature of this developement.

new (mobile/wearable) technology changes the paradigm from session based
separate VT communication to smoothly added AR. Instead of mounting
yourself in front of a desktop workstation

...

why?

I'm writing this on a desktop myself. OK, I'm forced to do so, since i
have no other tool to produce this text. (editors note: this was first
written on a paper with a pencil and is now retyped with a computer to
make it communicable) Could I do this otherwise?

I've seen and been dreaming of wearable voice-recognizing writing system I
could use when walking outside. Back in Finland, where everyone has a
cellular phone, this is already a common way to communicate, ie. when
walking from home to work or school people often call each other and talk.
I don't have the right equipment (yet) to be able to write while walking,
but I've been trying to practise this dictating just by speaking alone and
it seems to work ok. Some questions still bother me:

Writing is not just communicating, but for example e-mail often is.
How do creating and communication differ?

What is being? ;)

-> what is mobile
today?
in the past?
future?
