Exploring Multi-Linear Video
============================

Abstract
========

.. presents a model for so-called multilinear video, a kind of
'hypervideo', where there can be several different 'next' and
'previous' frames in each position. The model is partly inspired by
ZigZag and ZZStructure, i.e. having a n-dimensional linked list. ..

Introduction
============

Often video clips are like islands: separate entities with no
connections to each other. In video editing, they are typically
structured in a linear sequence, which forms a new whole -- e.g. a
documentary or feature film, or a TV programme. Those new wholes are
again 'islands', i.e. they and their parts have no explicit relations
to other pieces, except again in e.g. the programming of a TV channel
or a video festival, where they may be grouped, arranged in sequences
etc.

Here an attempt at a different approach to video is explored by
arranging the material in a single space, interconnected by diffent
kinds of relations.
